“Onward” + Nike = Good stuff
Here’s a great animation done for Nike by James Jarvis. Simple, engaging and a great story-telling example.

A beautiful music video directed by the young director Saman keshavarz, who uses the POV-style technic with the camera Canon 5D Mark II. The video clip is created for the musical project Cinnamon Chasers and for the track “Luv Deluxe”.
The storyline(s) is very interesting : it’s different possibilities of a same story.
“We’re told we all need to be leaders, but that would be really ineffective. The best way to make a movement, if you really care, is to courageously follow and show others how to follow. When you find a lone nut doing something great, have the guts to be the first person to stand up and join in.”
An insightful observation about leadership from Derek Sivers delivers an inspiring message about the way we live our lives.

Yesterday was the annual Oscar awards and the winner of short animation was Logorama, a short 3D movie made entirely out of logos. The concept is pretty interesting, because that is is close to the truth: everything around us is branded. Unfortunately, the story is weak, making the logos more like a gimmick, no matter how cool it looks like.
Ignore the preview video above and just go here to see the full Logorama.
It’s made by the French collective H5, who is known to make awesome animated music videos like Royskopp’s Remind Me and Goldfrapp’s Twist.

Here’s another music video they made, At The End Of The Sky from Darkel.
Impressive music video for OK Go’s new single “This Too Shall Pass” from their album “Of the Blue Colour of the Sky”. A crazy amount of preperation and thought must have gone into constructing this contraption, with some really neat tricks between the stages.
Strangely enough, the song has two official music videos for it, you can see the other one below:
Pretty self-explanatory, this impressive stop motion by Jamie Bell was done entirely with biro pens and a few flipbooks.
Just when you thought you’d seen it all. A short animated clip by Weebl.
A very nice short animation by the studio “Three Legged Legs”, check out more cool stuff on their site

The previous post of Pas reminded me that Justice also released this really cool video with motion graphics on t-shirts for the song D.A.N.C.E.. This video made by the French duo Jonas & François has been nomitated for “Video of the Year” by MTV in 2007, so you probably have seen it before. They’ve done a similar video with LP covers which is the one above, which is a teaser for the ED Banger Vol. 2.

The duo has done many music videos like Madonna’s 4 Minutes, but it seems like the ones using animations are the best ones. The one above is the music video for Kavinsky’s Testarossa Autodrive.

As with their other videos, here’s another one that’s recognizable for its animation, rotoscoping and typography: Flair’s Better than Prince. If anybody knows the official page for Jonas & François please post the link – it’s seems like my Googling skills are a bit off today.
