DEADLINE pixelart stop motion

by Douggie

Stop motion where post-it notes are being used to animate pixelart in order to visualize his actions on the computer. Pretty neat because of the pixelart-real life interaction. Made by Bang-yao Liu.

And that’s the making of, which is interesting to see how he not only did the stop motion animation, but also the planning and design. It’s pretty funny to see how they used a video camera, considering a photo camera would result in better image and probably a 4K stop motion movie! :P

Typography/Design Documentaires

by admin

YouTube Preview Image
A documentary yet to be released called “Typeface” has its trailer just released. It seems interesting if you’re into typography and graphic design as the trailer shows a small part about old school typeface setting. The tagline is “Charting the intersection between rural America and contemporary graphic design”, so I excited to see it!

This is an interesting, almost 3-year old documentary about the most used font on the planet, Helvetica. Even though “Helvetica” is the title, it is more the excuse underneath for the documentary, because essentially, this film is about typography and graphic design and that is what makes it interesting. Check out the official website for more interesting stuff, as well as cool merchandise. You can get the film too on the website.

Music video for the single “Arukuaraundo” by the Japanese band Sakanakushon. Japanese Typography on a whole different level than all the motion graphic typography you’re used to!

Tokyo Dogs Opening

One of the best looking Opening on s Jdorama, I’ve seen so far. The colours are quite simple but blends very well with the typography.

IT Crowd – Intro & Extras

by Douggie

YouTube Preview Image
The intro for the British comedy series IT Crowd. I’m not really sure who made the intro, but the pixelartstyle is done really nicely, as well as the “error”-effect.

The DVD has awesome extras in its menus. This is the first Season DVD extra, which resemble those old isometric adventure games. Love the remix chiptune intro!

The second season has some parodies of games we all know. This one is done by the British Studio CHASE.

The official video for “Just a Boy” by Angus & Julia Stone, made by Playdough.

And that’s the “Making Of”, which is more of a “behind the scenes” video. This does shows that it’s pretty interesting how the animation can make the video more magical and alive.

自主制作アニメーション

What starts out as a seemingly straightforward video soon dissolves into organized chaos, a very beautifully thought out piece of animation, which just goes to show that with the right ideas anything can be captivating.
