If you’re a fan of Justice, then no doubt you’ve already seen this. For the rest of you, here’s the video for Justice’s “DVNO”, a really nice motion graphic using popular titles and putting their own spin on it.

The guy who made this, Tim Smit, a Dutch physics student, released this short movie called “What’s in the Box?”, which is a POV, Cloverfield-inspired short. The motion tracking is really impressive and I and I like the HUD designs, but the story doesn’t really seem that impressive to me and the atmosphere of the effects and environment seem to clash (that’s what you get for shooting in your Dutch hometown). The amazing thing is this though:

It seems like some Hollywood studios called him up asking how he had done the video and were amazed at that. I’m not really sure if he got job offers. Even though this is not likely to happen to most of us, even if we made cool shit, it seems that it does and can happen if you’re able to generate some good hype around it.

Quite the visual treat, with a stunning combination of both 2D and 3D animation. From Passion Pictures Studio, Directed by Pete Candeland of Gorillaz music video fame.

A short 3D animation done by the independent Korean animation studio MESAI. Lots of really cool shots, environmental detail and – besides the humor and the familiarity with the story – I like the smart usage of sounds in this short.

Not the best lyrics in this song, but this fan made video is making up for the lyrics! Made by Joerg Narton as a final project for his university. In case you don’t ever read the comments, here’s what he said about making the video:

“i used Cinema 4d for 3d modeling and 3d Animation, Xfrog (as Cinema 4d plugin) for modeling and animating the plants and ornamental shapes and After Effects for 2d Animation and compositing.”

I’m not really sure how this sort of ink/grow/organic style is called, so if you have the official term for it, enlighten me!

I always enjoy watching parodies, and this was no exception. A very interesting and well-crafted take on what really happened to the Pixar logo.
